🌱 Growing Minds Bilingual Daycare

Planting seeds of knowledge, growing roots of confidence

MEET THE FOUNDER & CEO

Hey, I'm Joslley!

Growing Minds Bilingual Daycare is owned and operated by a dedicated early childhood professional holding a Doctor of Education (Ed.D.), a Master's in Early Childhood Education, a Bachelor's in Sociology, and a Bachelor's in Business Administration. She also holds a New York State teaching certification (Birth–Grade 2) and brings over 18 years of experience in the field.

Her journey in education began when she owned and operated her own daycare for 10 years, giving her firsthand experience in building and running a high-quality early childhood program from the ground up. She then spent three years teaching Pre-K, Kindergarten, and first grade in the New York City Department of Education, followed by a role as Education Director overseeing curriculum and program quality.

As a certified trainer, she provides professional development to child care providers, including 15-Hour Health and Safety Training and CPR & First Aid certification. She also serves as an adjunct professor, bringing her practical expertise into higher education and helping to shape the next generation of early childhood professionals. She is fully bilingual in English and Spanish and is committed to raising confident, curious, bilingual children who are proud of their roots and ready for the world.

Our Philosophy

By combining these two powerful approaches, we create a learning environment where children are respected as capable, curious individuals who are active participants in their own growth.

From Reggio Emilia, we embrace the belief that children learn best through exploration, creativity, and meaningful projects. The environment is a teacher, our space is intentionally designed with natural materials, open-ended resources, and opportunities for discovery. Children are encouraged to ask questions, investigate, and express themselves through art, language, and play.

From Montessori, we foster independence, self-direction, and hands-on learning. Children are given the freedom to make choices, work at their own pace, and develop practical life skills. We believe in guiding rather than directing, allowing children to build confidence by doing things for themselves.

We also believe children need real-world experiences. Learning doesn't just happen inside four walls. Whether it's gardening, cooking, nature walks, or community outings, we connect learning to life in meaningful, authentic ways. Children who grow up in this environment become independent thinkers, creative problem-solvers, and confident learners. They develop strong executive function skills, focus, self-regulation, and the ability to plan and follow through. Most importantly, they develop a love of learning that stays with them for life.
